The title of this EP is pretty self-explanatory. Considering the recent history of one of the EP’s tracks being stolen and released in South Africa under another artist’s name, we thought it’s high time to make this piece of work available digitally!

Written and produced in late 2012, the main 3 tracks saw the light of the day on a limited vinyl-only release on Amp-Art Recordings (UK) in the spring of 2014. This special digital version comes with an exclusive bonus track “From Head to Toe”, which was produced by Lay-Far in the same time-period in 44/4 Studio, Moscow, but has never made it to any other release.

Tracks 1, 2 and 3 used under exclusive license from Amp-Art Recordings (UK). Tracks 1, 2, 3 mastered at Air Mastering. Track 4 mastered by Martin Iveson @ ARCO labs (2016). Original artwork by Maxim Sullivan.

The original 2013 press-release reads:

“on this EP Lay-Far dish out 3 tracks of low slung, funky and soulful house music, done in that classic Detroit style. "That Voice From Far Away" has great vocal chorus elements, paired with a funky and tight instrumental backing, which has early Andres and KDJ written-all over it. On the flip we start with “Where I’ve Never Been Before (Yet)”, a jacking Harlem funk groove that builds up with layers of chords and intricate percussion combined with the now trademark vocal skits and riffing funk guitar. “You Know I’m Gonna Getcha” concludes this essential 3-tracker; a gorgeous blend of samba rhythms, deep chords and Rhodes keys, all given extra weight by a big bouncy house beat and huge wub'ing bassline introduced halfway through the track! Massive record, already garnishing lots of press, move quick!”
